Otology is a research of hearing, vestibular sensory systems and its related functions. It causes infections, deafness, dizziness and ear reconstruction. Otologists difficult to treat middle ear problems.

Neurotology is related otology, neurosurgery and clinical neurology but to operate brain and nervous system related to hearing and balance. It affects neuromas, glomus tumors, facial nerve tumors and skull. Neurotologists perform cochlear implantation surgery. Vestibular diseases are Meniere’s disease and vestibular neuronitis.
