Rhinitis causes nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing and itching. Facial pressure decreased sense of smell or a greenish-yellow nasal drainage it leads to sinusitis. Acute rhinitis is caused by a viral illness, allergic or seasonal rhinitis and nonallergic rhinitis. Allergic rhinitis occurs when allergens in the air release of histamine. Histamine causes itching, swelling and fluid. Sinusitis is a cold or flu virus spreading to the sinuses from the upper respiratory tract infection and few sinus cases are caused by bacteria. Help to relieve sinus pain and pressure are put a warm compress over the nose and forehead to help relieve sinus pressure, use a decongestant or saline nasal spray and breathe in steam from a bowl of hot water or shower.
